Optical Mirror

Optical Mirrors are produced to reflect light for diverse applications. Mirror coatings are designed to reflect entire wavelengths of light; but at times, they are modified to reflect on a selective region. Depending on the coating material, specific wavelengths of reflection and absorption can be acquired. Some of the most common coating materials are Aluminum, Gold, and Silver within a range that can be extended to include all dielectric materials.

optical Mirrors are designed to reflect light for a variety of applications, including beam steering, interferometry, imaging, or illumination.

Honour Optics offers a range of the laser, flat, metal substrate, focusing, or specialty Optical Mirrors in a multitude of reflective coating options, including Protected Aluminum, Enhanced Aluminum, Protected Silver, Protected Gold, or Dielectric. Honour Optics is the professional plano/spherical/aspherical/cylindrical/paraboloid/off-axis optical mirrors manufacturer, procurement customizable optical mirrors at factory price.

1.Super polished surfaces

Extremely perfect surface quality in the center 50% of the diameter. Keep Surface super clean for high performance. Care should be taken to insure that these mirrors remain clean during use to maintain the high reflectivity and performance levels. The only cleaning operation recommended is the removal of dust with a low pressure filtered dry nitrogen nozzle. Cleaning techniques specifically developed for high-performance optics may be used by qualified personnel. 100 ppm performance levels cannot be maintained if the optic is cleaned using standard techniques.

Flatness and surface quality can be selected for your specific application. Ranging from L/4 λ/10 to λ/20 or 60/40, 40/20 to 20/10, select the quality level that you require. Strongly suggest there is no need to pay for higher precision levels if you don't really need them. 2.Typical materials for mirror applications

Zerodur is a unique glass-ceramic material with a nearly zero coefficient of thermal expansion. Zerodur is an ideal material for environments with large temperature fluctuations. Zerodur is used for the optical telescope and other important fields of science and technology.

Borofloat 33 is a high-quality borosilicate glass that offers low thermal expansion, and high thermal shock resistance making it ideal for a wide range of optical mirror applications.

UV grade fused silica is used as a substrate material for the Broadbeam mirrors for low thermal expansion and low material absorption in the wavelength regime of 350 to 1100 nm. As a result, Broadbeam mirrors will perform better with temperature fluctuations and will have better resistance from environmental effects compared to many other metallic and dielectric mirrors used in these wavelength ranges.

N-BK7 is the Rosh compliance material of BK7. N-BK7 is a borosilicate crown optical glass, which has high homogeneity, low bubble, and inclusion content. Its good physical and chemical properties make it widely used in visible and near IR range. Most of windows, lenses, and prisms, which used in laser, an optical system, optical communication, are made from N-BK7 glass.

3.Mirror Coatings

Enhanced Aluminum UV Coating is a durable, broadband UV reflector with average reflectivity greater than 90% from 250 – 600 nm. The aluminum film is overcoated with UV transparent magnesium fluoride to prevent oxidation of the metal.

Enhanced Aluminum VIS-NIR coating may be used wherever broadband visible and near-infrared reflector is needed. A multilayer dielectric stack deposited over the aluminum film boosts reflectance and improves the durability of the coating. Average reflectivity is greater than 93% from 450-700 nm.

Protected Silver VIS-IR Coating is composed of a low emissivity silver film fully encapsulated by a multilayer dielectric stack to prevent oxidation. This coating has excellent broadband reflectivity in the IR while maintaining very good performance in the visible and near IR. Average reflectivity is greater than 96% from 480 – 1100 nm and greater than 98.5% from 1.1 – 20 µm. This silver mirror is a favorite for Ultrafast scientists who want an inexpensive option.

Protected Gold NIR-IR Coating is ideal for applications requiring broadband reflectance in the near IR to the far IR. A multilayer dielectric overcoat provides protection to the gold from the environment. Average reflectivity is greater than 96% from 650 – 1700 nm and greater than 98% from 1.7 – 2.0 µm.

Broadband Dielectric Coatings with High quality, excellent value, and High damage threshold. Other coatings are available upon request. Rave is greater than 99% in the standard range
Substrate flatness or surface mass is lambda /10, 60-40 to lambda /20, 10-2
Most suitable for spectroscopy, microscopy, and general laboratory applications, The Zerodur substrate achieves minimal thermal distortion. Laser dielectric film system is suitable for high-efficiency reflector and can be used in the narrowband wavelength range.

Durable Dielectric Coatings, also known as thin film coatings or interference coatings, contain a very thin layer of transparent dielectric material (typically submicron in thickness) that needs to be coated on the substrate material. The function of the dielectric coating is to change the reflective property of the surface by using the interference effect of reflected light at multiple optical interfaces. They can be used as high reflectivity laser reflectors, partially transmitted output couplers, dichroic reflectors (which behave differently for different wavelengths), anti-reflection coatings, various optical filters (for example, the light used to attenuate a particular wavelength region), beam splitters, heat reflectors, solar cell covers, and thin-film polarizers. Optical Mirrors are used in a wide range of industries, such as life sciences, astronomy, metrology, semiconductor, or solar. The reflector is probably the most commonly used optical element in your laboratory, and its quality, performance, and reliability are the keys to the success of your experiment. Honour optics offer all kinds of high-quality reflectors to ensure that you can find the products you need.

Choosing the proper reflective coating option ensures high reflectivity of the needed wavelength or wavelength range. Optical Mirrors designed for laser applications are optimized for the given laser wavelength. Additionally, Optical Mirrors designed for lasers feature damage thresholds that are suitable for the designated laser. Metal substrate Optical Mirrors are ideal for applications requiring a constant coefficient of thermal expansion between the Optical Mirror and the mount.
